Highlights From Digital Resources
Digital resources are immensely important when considering the success of our students in our classroom. I enjoyed reviewing the digital resources because it allowed me to really see which programs were good, for what reasons. Allowing myself to really dig deep into these resources allowed me to see which situations I would utilize one resource, instead of another. For example, if I want to show an educational clip related to our current discussion, I would use BrainPop Jr. and not News-2-You; as BrainPop Jr. utilizes 2 comical characters to portray valuable information on various topics.
Also, I learned during that unit the importance of continuous research until finding the resource that will "best fit" your unit and what you're trying to portray. We owe it to our students to continue to do research until we find material that is beneficial and appropriate to what we are discussing in class. Finding the quickest and easiest resource will not help our students learn the information that will guide them to success. Rather, it will frustrate them; as it will not be pertinent to the topic being discussed. For example, if I was looking for additional resources for homework sheets, I would use EdHelper instead of BrainPop Jr.
